I thought you might like to see this. A great Rotary day out!
One of the great things about our club is that we are ‘twinned’ with the Rotary Club of Meppen, a town in Germany, not far from the border with The Netherlands. Last weekend we entertained a group of our friends from Meppen: we took them to the Historic Dockyard, Chatham in Kent (http://www.thedockyard.co.uk/). And what a great time we all had. We climbed over the destroyer, Cavalier; went inside the 1950s cold war submarine, Ocelot, and had an amazing tour of the 1000 foot long ‘Ropery’. We even helped make some rope!
We completed this brilliant day by enjoying a great meal together at our usual meeting place, Chipstead Golf Club (http://www.chipsteadgolf.co.uk/). Our Meppen friends went back home on Sunday and, lucky us, we’ll be their guests next year!
