Members of Staines Rotary Club gave me a warm welcome last night when I went there as guest speaker to talk about my writing. The venue is the superb Thames Lodge Hotel (http://www.mercure.com/gb/hotel-6620-mercure-london-staines-upon-thames-hotel/index.shtml) which made a nice change from a golf club!
One of the topics of conversation over the excellent dinner was Commander Gerry Lambourne QPM whom I worked closely with in various fingerprint projects in the 80’s. Gerry was a world renown fingerprint expert and we became good friends. Sadly, he passed away just over a year ago .
Many thanks to Peter Jackson, speaker secretary for inviting me, Alex Forrester for recommending me, Syd Mair who presided and all those who kindly purchased copies of my novels, including president, Sam Budd.
Thank you guys for a great evening!
